Tameside & Glossop`s Macmillan Joint Working Group

Tameside & Glossop's Macmillan Information and support service is working together with key partners across the community to improve services and support for people affected by cancer.

The Joint working group wants to ensure people affected by cancer receive the offer of support that is right for them.

By working together we hope to build on existing services and offer new services and support to people affected by cancer in Tameside & Glossop.

As a result of the group members agreeing to work together we are now offering an emotional support and mental health well-being service in partnership with Healthy Minds, Neighbourhood mental health team, Willow Wood Hospice day services, Age UK Tameside`s get up and go service, Tameside Oldham and Glossop MIND, Minds Matter and Child Bereavement UK.

At present, the majority of the services and support are offered by telephone or virtual support sessions. However, some sessions can be offered face to face. When we are able to safely offer face to face support again, the group would like to see this support offered in the hospital and the community

The Tameside and Glossop, Macmillan information and support service offers free confidential and impartial information and support to anyone affected by cancer.

Please contact us if you would like to learn more, or to participate in the group sharing your insight and experiences to help others in the future or to find the support that is right for you.
