Tameside Macmillan Unit awarded Macmillan Cancer Support`s Quality Environment Mark

Tameside`s Macmillan Unit and Tameside and Glossop`s Macmillan Information and Support Service have been awarded Macmillan Cancer Support`s prestigious Macmillan Quality Environment Mark.

The Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM) is a detailed quality framework used for assessing whether cancer care environments meet the standards required by people living with cancer.

This award recognises the environment of Tameside`s Macmillan Unit and the services within as achieving Macmillan Cancer Support`s standard of excellence.

We are extremely proud to receive the award. It's a testament to the tireless work of the nursing and healthcare teams, Macmillan Information and Support Service, reception and out-patients, volunteers, fundraisers, community and voluntary groups, all of whom work in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to ensure the Tameside Macmillan Unit and the Tameside and Glossop Macmillan Information and Support Service continue to deliver the highest quality services and support in the most supportive environment. Patients appreciated the unit being closer to home, all found the atmosphere calm and relaxing and the staff warm welcoming and friendly
